Two-Fic Tuesday

Welcome!

This week I have a few different things for you all! Yes, there are the usual story recommendations, but I have an update and a little story of my own to share.

First, stories!

I highly suggest reading these two together. It was a wonderful experience for me to do these back to back and I highly recommend it.

The Memory Technician - Ian Li - Small Wonders
Oh, this warmed my heart a little. I love anything that plays with memory and this story in particular just felt so, so good. It was warm and kind and is something that just left me feeling happier by the time it came to an end.

Pieces of Me - Deborah L. Davitt - Flash Point SF
I found this story only a few days after reading the previous one, and I love that for me. Two stories about memory, and funny enough from the point of view of characters that really complement each other. This was a great experience to read on its own, but being able to pair these two stories together was a delight.

Updates

While nothing at all is changing here, I made myself a Patreon and Ko-fi. I didn't do this because I think I have the audience to get a lot from it, but I wanted to have a sort of tip jar open for anyone who might be inclined to do something nice.

Both the Patreon and Ko-fi have some tiers as well as being able to just throw me something once on Ko-fi, but they're very simple. This was absolutely intentional, as I want this to be something I can keep up easily, even if it's just for me.

Tiers:
$1 - Prompts! At least 5 prompts each month for you to do whatever you'd like.
$2 - More personal updates, but also thoughts on writing, maybe some behind-the-scenes stuff, and other things I might be a little hesitant to share out into be wide open interent.
$4 - Get an exclusive piece of micro-fiction just for patrons. I'll also put up a post every three months to get prompts from people on this tier and write everyone something of at least 500 words.
$10 - A tarot/oracle/curio reading for you once a month. You can do whatever you want with these readings, whether it's using them as prompts, a way to examine something in your life, or whatever else you feel like.

If you want to take a look at either option they're here:

Also, on the off chance you want to just follow either place, feel free. I'll be collecting the public microfic I write and posting them for everyone as well as doing free 1 card draws for folks once in a while.

A tiny story:

This was one of the stories that came from a Bluesky prompt, but I know not everyone keeps up with that kind of thing (me included) so I thought I'd share it here.

~~

It doesn't matter that you haven't lived in the house for 20 years, or that you watched it get torn down before you finally moved away.

The house doesn't abide by those laws anymore.

It follows you through dorms and apartments, shared spaces and the studio you rented when you left your ex.

It even found you when you moved across the country and rented a place you thought would old enough to withstand the influence.

The house always finds you, always takes over piece by piece until you're within those walls all over again.

You can try to explain it, but nobody understands. All they see is the space you've tried to make for yourself, not the space that refuses to let you go.

~~

And that's everything I have for you this week! I know it's a lot this go around, but I hope you enjoy all of it.

Be well, take care, and I hope you read something lovely this week.
