Two-Fic Tuesday

Welcome!

My comments are brief today, but don't let that stop you from reading either of these stories. Both of them sat with me for a while after I read them, and I'm glad to get to share them with you now.

Recs

A Sign Hangs From My Hunger - Amabilis O'Hara - Inner Worlds
I'm mad at how much this story felt like someone has pulled out parts of my own thoughts and put them on display. This story may not resonate with everyone, but it hit me hard, to the point where I'm almost embarrassed to mention any of this in my praise of it. However, that also makes me feel as if it's even more worth sharing.

Winding Down - Liam Hogan - 100-Foot Crow
This one hit me too, but in a different way. I love bird motifs as well as the general themes of needing to wind something up and how that can apply to a number of things. Maybe it's because it's so hot here and my body has dealt with it horribly, but the way this character moved was something else that resonated with me this week.

Updates:

I have nothing exciting to report this week. I've done a couple of beta reads for people and did some submitting. Also received a couple of rejections, but I don't mind at all. I'm one of those people who gives themself points and has a reward system for rejections, so I still get a dopamine spike when they end up in my inbox.

Hopefully, this week has some drafting, and maybe a couple more submissions. I know I'll get some feedback on things, so that's going to keep my editing brain busy.

Oh, and I've got new glasses, but that's entirely unrelated to why people are probably here.

Be well, take care, and I hope you read something lovely this week.
