Two Fic Tuesday for March 3rd

Hi, hello and welcome!

This week doesn't have a theme other than just being a pair of stories I really enjoyed. While I read a bunch of stuff, a lot of it was scattered and I didn't wind up coming up on things that paired perfectly. But also, that's fine! Nothing wrong with just finding beautiful stories that you can freely enjoy and recommend to others.

Recs

Medusa’s Ship, or The Thing About Bodies - Natalia Theodoridou - Beneath Ceaseless Skies
There's so much to love about this story. The trans masc rep, and ships getting bodies! The stories about/within stories! I don't often read Beneath Ceaseless Skies, but whenever I do, I always find things I love and this one is no exception. Everything about this story, from the small cast, to the themes, to just everything, was perfect for me.

Palimpsest - Melissa A Watkins - Strange Horizons
I wasn't expecting this story to hit me as hard as it did. It resonated in my chest in a way that totally caught me off guard but made the story all the more powerful for that. Complicated parental relationships are a thing I know well, and while this one didn't mirror my own, I still felt so close to the character and felt his pain echo as I read it.

I wish all of you many good stories,

PS: If you want to find me elsewhere, I'm on Bluesky at @howsweetthewords and I have a Ko-fi and Patreon where I post prompts, more personal/writing updates, microfiction, and miscellany. Tiers start at $1, but there is the occasional free post as well.
