Two Fic Tuesday for April 14th
Hi, hello and welcome!
This week I have a pair of stories from returning authors! Jennifer Hudak and Catherine Tavares are two people whose work I really admire, as well as finding them to be delightful humans as well. They both create wonderful, evocative work that can be word, and fascinating, and sometimes even unsettling, but in such beautiful ways.

I love Jennifer's work. Her stories are like catnip for me and this one was no exception. I grew up by beaches, and even though they were different than these, I still felt so close to this story, anyway. It's beautiful, and brief, and feels so much like the things it's trying to convey.

Oh no, I loved everything about this. Catherine does some great work with format in her fiction and this one is very much on theme for that! I love seeing the way she played with structure to tell this story so, so much. It's creepy, and fun, and just a delight.
I wish all of you many good stories,
- Vale
PS: If you want to find me elsewhere, I'm on Bluesky at @howsweetthewords and I have a Ko-fi and Patreon where I post prompts, more personal/writing updates, microfiction, and miscellany. Tiers start at $1, but there is the occasional free post as well.
