Two Fic Tuesday For June 2nd

Hi, hello and welcome!

Here are two stories that I really found myself falling in love with. Both of them do wonderful things with words and structure that wrapped me up and held my attention for the whole time. I was so taken with both of them that I knew I'd want to share them this week.

Recs

To Devour Your Own Name - Katlina Sommerberg - Adventitious
This story is absolutely gorgeous. It's a wonderful example of the kind of flash that I love. The imagery is just breathtaking and the way the whole thing is so fierce, so full of sharp, challenging energy makes it really come alive. I am so glad I found this one.

So, You Think This Might Be a Fairy Tale: A Checklist - Laila Amado - Hex Literary
Okay look, I love flash fiction for many reasons, but one of them is because you can get stories like this. Pieces where you can play with the structure of the work and let it become something both familiar and new, and wonderful all at once. I loved running into this story and the way it was both told, and how it felt.

I wish all of you many good stories,
