weekly log: April 23

Updates:

I don't have a lot to say this week. I've been preparing to travel, and then was on a plane/trapped in an airport for a lot of yesterday. It wasn't a horrible flight, but ugh, so long. And I was so, so tired by the end of it.

This week is going to be catching up on writing things, doing some beta reading, and seeing some folks in the Seattle area. I'm here for at least a month or so, which means i have plenty of time to do things, but I want to get into the groove of doing writing work and such early.

Story recs:

The Ice Cutter’s Daughter and Her Looking Glass - Nadia Born
I love magic with a price and I love the power of names. That means I was going to love this one. It's melancholy and beautifully written, and I loved the way it ended in something almost bittersweet.

Friends Forever - Katherine Plumhoff
This manages to be sweet, unnerving, and relatable at the same time. I feel like I know a lot of people who would do something like this, and at some point I think I might have too. It's interesting to find myself in a plae where I don't feel that way anymore though, and this made me consider where I sit in my life, which was unexpected but nice.
